Aims and objectives

  • To create awareness among the general public, schools and social institutions about this little known condition called Dyslexia
  • To create awareness about the fact that streaks of genius in other walks of life could exist side by side with Dyslexia
  • To arouse interest in the educationists, professionals and teachers to help in preparing these children not only for examinations but also to meet all the challenges of life
  • To bring to the notice of the education authorities the need for a different examination criteria for these children
  • To work towards establishing remedial centres in regular schools
  • To conduct training programmes for individuals interested in teaching children with dyslexia
  • To provide a support system for parents
  • To hold seminars and workshops to propagate knowledge in this field

About MDA

A group of parents of children with dyslexia, educationists empathetic to the cause, and philanthropists founded MDA in 1992. Madras Dyslexia Association (MDA) is a non-profit service organization established to take a pragmatic approach to helping children with “Dyslexia”.
